Two Interludes (2008) for piano and MaxMSP/Jitter
|
Two Interludes explores the musical application of complex spatialization and spectral filtering techniques as well as more simple psychoacoustic effects such as beating and auditory masking. The piece is part of a collection of works for piano and computer which is due to be published on the EMF label in late-2012. The spatial techniques employed were developed by the composer at SARC (Belfast) in the summer of 2006. I am grateful to Michael Alcorn and all of the personnel there for their assistance. The composition of Two Interludes was also supported through a research grant awarded by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
